Kasai Konro charcoal grills are inspired by world famous Japanese design. They’re a traditional heat source used to make delicious meats, fish, and vegetables. It’s a versatile bit of kit that can hold anything from kebabs, to yakitori skewers, and even hold your pans for you with interchangeable racks.

Specialist design

Compact, versatile, and designed for commercial kitchens and home use. The iconic structure of the Kasai uses a special insulating material that reflects heat back into the grill, allowing for a consistent temperature throughout cooking. It relies on bricks which are each fitted together precisely by hand for a strong, tighter, more fire-resistant quality product.

Long burning charcoal

It’s recommended to use the Kasai with Binchotan charcoal due to its long burning properties and its ability to seal in natural flavours without imparting any other aromas. Binchotan produces inimitable smokiness when cooking, without the traditional BBQ’s bitter and burnt flavours. Once finished, the coals can be cooled, left to dry and used again.

Sustainable cooking

Once the vermiculite tiles reach their end of life, there’s no need to replace the Kasai. We can offer you replacement tiles, and the old ones can be ground and used by gardeners. They’re an effective soil conditioner that can loosen compacted soil, provide drainage, and hold three to four times its weight in water.

Cooking with a conscience

The tiles for our Kasai Grills are made from vermiculite, which goes through an exfoliation process to become our Kasai Tile. We offer replacement tiles to restaurants and home users once the tiles reach end of life. The old tiles are then ground and given to gardeners to use as an effective soil conditioner.
