Kasai BBQ Grilled Cheese Toastie

Method
Four Cheese toastie – using the Kasai plancha
  • Preheat the Kasai BBQ until coals are white hot and place the plancha attachment on top to pre heat In a bowl mix together the Rouille cheese , grated Parmesan , mustard , grated cheddar , salt , pepper and mix until a paste/ cheese dough is formed.
  • Build the cheese toastie with plenty of cheese mix to create a sandwich before brushing one side with melted butter.
  • Place the sandwich butter side down onto the plancha and toast until golden. Brush the other side of the sandwich with melted butter before turning the sandwich and creating the toasted finish.
  • Add a few small knobs of butter to foam around the sandwich turning frequently until crisp and golden.
  • Set aside the sandwich and trim off the crust on either end. Cut in half ready to return to the plancha. 
  • Using the remaining Parmesan sprinkle onto the plancha and gently melt to make a Parmesan crisp.
  • Once the Parmesan starts to caramelise and the toastie into the middle of the Parmesan before folding the Parmesan around the toastie.
  • Serve with your favourite salad and enjoy the ultimate cheese encrusted sandwich.
Ingredients
  • 2 x slices extra thick white bread
  • 100g garlic and herb rouille cheese
  • 100g extra mature cheddar cheese - grated
  • 50 g grated Parmesan
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 75g melted butter
  • 50g butter Sea salt Ground pepper
  • 100g additional grated Parmesan for crisp coating
